French Fancy

French history is full of the romantic notions of decadence and charm, notions which are still popular today. Following in the footsteps of Sophia Coppola's Marie Antoinette and the floral collection from Alexander McQueen this Spring, the new fragrance from Rancé brings a touch of refined elegance into our lives.

The fragrance 'Eugénie' is not strictly 'new' however. It was originally created over one hundred years ago for Empress Eugénie, the wife of Napoleon III, and has been revived by the Rancé family. The fragrance reflects the grace and elegance of its namesake. It is fresh and floral, containing notes of lily-of-the-valley, bergamot and vanilla. Similarly, the classic bottle and luxurious packaging take you back to the spirit of Imperial France.

Although 'Eugénie' has a subtle and soft essence, don't underestimate its intensely feminine charm. If history is anything to go by it can help you capture the heart of the most powerful of men!

Available now at La Foret, on the Fourth Floor at Harvey Nichols London.
